The imperials were only able to launch their assault
due to having control of the local air space.
The freedom fighter and marine rapid deployment
force crippled all the local air fields.
This know means the imperials on the group can
try to call in air support.
The battle group commander on the day can alocate
these as he see's fit.

The hard pressed chaos forces cant call on air power.
But have prepared artillary positions in the area.
the chaos force commander can try to call in artillary
support and alocate were he deams needed.

The support might not be the type you'd like,
but its support.

What did people think of the support idea?
Chaos had arty support dug in all over the nearby
landscape.
Imperials had total air power over the battle field.

Both Generals would roll for this.
If it became available the general
could nominate a table to benefit from this.
The resever of this support would then roll to
see if he was hit by friendly fire. On d6 1or2.
Then the type of gunship armourment would be rolled.
It might be kitted out to deal with infantry,when you
might wish to deal with enemy tanks.
Such is war.
