Yes Jack its time to give the spoon a new home and this would be a good opportunity for the maelstrom guys to try out their armies in some friendly competition. So 12th of Feb jimbo will have some guests visiting the club so bring your armies 1650pts only people in maelstrom teams who are allowed to use special unique characters can use them so everybody else no specials just normal everyday heroes this time doesn't really effect me as all my daemons are special to me. All those who can make it for that night give a holler here and let me know what armies your bringing if I get enough interest in this one I will provide some refreshments as well.

I`ll more than likely be there to join in mate, but may be playing host just as much so will have to see on that front. and 1650 pts yeah?

Might have to miss this one. The old folks are down and seeing as my dad will be decorating my new flat it seems a bit off to open the door let him in, show him where the kettle is and sod off out to the club.

At least I won't be coming home with the spoon this time.

As a side note I still have a dozen new spoons waiting to be engraved. We can use those for OL events etc. I will try to get one made up ready for this event in case one of those pesky Northerners takes home out prize

I'm hoping i'll be there. We're still waiting for Dagenham council to pull their fingers out and provide a reference to the new landlord before we can get the ok to move so if it doesn't happen sometime next week i'll be here for the weekend.

What is maelstrom exactly?
Are you saying I can't bring Vulkan? What is the difference between a 'special' character and a 'normal hero'? I like to think that every marine is a hero.

maelstrom is a tournament for teams of 4 at 1650pts only 1 player in each team only one player in each team is allowed to use a unique character.

OK, let me get this straight:
* I need a 1650 list
* no characters with 'unique' in their description - but other characters are OK
* I will team up with 3 other people (or with one other person against 2?)

Will I be playing several games? If so this might go on late - which is fine - but I need to clear my schedule.

won't no exact details until we get final numbers on night but should be two games. just bring a 1650 list and be prepared to unleash hell on the enemy. also captains of teams will have some practice for their duties of selecting players for battle if we get enough players.

Aye, I reckon its best to bring a 1650 list with no named special characters (its ok to bring a farseer, but not eldrad etc...).

However, I'd suggest that you bring a couple of other more normal point ranges (1k, 1.5k etc, where there is no rules about no special character) just in case.

This isnt an event, just a normal club afternoon/evening, but what happens is that we keep track of the wins/draws/losses, and at the end of the evening, whoever is the loser wins the spoon of shame and needs to take it home, paint their logo on it, and organise the next spoon of shame event.
