As powderfan funday was a big success time to think about febs event I propose saturday the 25th feb let me know if this date is ok for most people this should give enough time to organise something special.

I would like to organise a broken alliance concept it will be a doubles and singles match combined confused you will be. I liked the way the funday had the teams and individuals captured objectives I liked this idea and would like to combine it with the wooden spoon king of the castle I organised. This would involve people entering a doubles team and would get team and individual points and friendly fire will be allowed, that's where the broken alliance comes here you will need to work together to win the game but you still have get your indivual points as well. points will awarded for capturing objectives if a unit captures one they will score a point for the team and a point for themselves, kill points each unit destroyed 1 point for the team and 1 point for the player who destroyed the unit you will also gain an individual point if you destroy a unit from your partners force and closest unit to the centre of the board 1 point for the team 1 point for player who owns the unit.

This type of competition might sound complicated at first but I feel it will create a good competition with team and individual prizes, and as the name suggests this is about players forming a fragile alliance with each to win games but also involve a lot of self interest for the individual points available. This will involve partners working together till a point to gain the team win but also work on their own agenda, this partnership will work well with imperial and non-imperial forces working together before they betray their ally. Friendly fire will probably start happening in the later turns once the enemy has been subdued and your partner is in a weakened state. A lot of the novels have opposing forces joining together to face a mutual threat but always the alliance is strained this is idea behind this competition.

it will 2 v 2 but you will be allowed attack your patners force as well. even though you enter as a doubles team you play for an individual prize too. hopefully this will make for some interesting games trying to win for team but also having to play as an individual. I think this could prove to be an interesting twist to the game. as you have to watchout for the enemy and your team mate. it should get more interesting the more games you play. will you still be a team at the or will your alliance be broken.

25th is good. I've pencilled it in to the diary.

Count me in, what points level?? Maybe for the doubles if we all turn up just pick names out of a head for the pair up so know one know who getting what till on the day

Put me down as a maybe. It all depends on the date of my house move. Still in the dark for now. I may well need some light relief from the stress of moving so would be cool if I can get there.

bazz I like that idea nobody will know their partner till the day even better for the broken alliance before the event starts we could do like the FA cup draw and get who will partner who and which pairs will fight for their first battle. I think that way you won't feel so bad when you start shooting your partner if you don't know them and if you end up with a mate remember what happens in the game stays in the game.

As for points level I am not sure it will have to be 750 or 1000 Could I have some volunteers to play test at the different points lvls please if any one is up for play testing this sunday can you let me know. and any more ideas just let me know the way I picture the games going at the minute I can see there will be tales of sullen treachery that will put Horus to shame.

Am up for this will have to double check with the missus to see if she is working her shift that day, if so then my team mate will have to be my baby girl, although she probably show me hows its done and if not then someone else will be lumbered with me

The more I think about the structure of this tornourment I the more I think if we can pull this one off everybody will have some good war stories to tell the grankids. It will be a combined doubles and singles where points will be given to team and individual effort and the fact you won't know who your partner is until the day will test everybodies emotions as well as tactics, this might encourage a more fluffy list building by players who can't sit down with their partner and plan their armies and tactics together so hopefully see some more rounded force selection but i'm sure this won't deter all the specialised lists. The idea behind this day is my wooden spoon competition michaels funday point scoring and bazz's idea of drawing the teams on the day which I hope will combine to give everyone a unique experience on the day. I am working on a pack for this day and will get ideas and feedback from the overlords to help streamline and improve things to create a successful day for everyone involved, so will need the overlords to make themselves available for play testing to iron out unforseen problems that could arise. So far all the events have been a success and michaels funday is a standard to aim for in feb so as more information becomes available any feedback will be greatly received. Hopefully I can get some coverage for the event on the podcast leading up to the event and get some rumours flying about and give this event a big build up.
